Jackie Brickman advises school boards on a variety of special education and general school law matters, including identifying students with disabilities, providing appropriate IEPs and 504 plans, conducting manifestation determination reviews, carrying out school district investigations, addressing disciplinary issues for employees and students, and responding to employee requests for medical leave and accommodations due to a disability. Jackie also defends school boards in special education due process cases; administrative hearings regarding employee discipline; discrimination claims before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Ohio Civil Rights Commission, and the Office for Civil Rights; and other litigation before Ohio courts at both the trial and appellate levels.

Prior to joining Pepple & Waggoner, Jackie was a judicial clerk for the Honorable Vernon L. Preston at the Third District Court of Appeals of Ohio. Jackie graduated cum laude from The University of Akron School of Law where she served as the Executive Editor of the Akron Law Review, earned the CALI Award for Excellence in Appellate Advocacy, and received the American Law Institute-American Bar Association Scholarship & Leadership Award. Jackie graduated magna cum laude from The Ohio State University, with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy. On a personal note, Jackie is an avid reader, a loyal Buckeyes fan, and enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter.
